Photography and Memorabilia of the Pittsburgh Pirates I have been an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates since 1950. In the early 1980s, I began collecting a variety of baseball cards and memorabilia. Most recently, I have concentrated on collecting original vintage photos of Pittsburgh Pirate players, Pittsburgh Pirate teams, and Forbes Field from the late 19th century to 1970, as well as Pittsburgh Pirate ticket stubs, pins and buttons, postcards, schedules and scorebooks. The collection of photography consists
of images taken by many famous sports photographers, major and minor
news services, and those with wire photos stampings. A number of the
images were used for baseball cards, publications and pins. My goal is
to amass a comprehensive collection of Pittsburgh Pirate photos that
will chronicle the history of the Pittsburgh Baseball Team. With great gratitude, I acknowledge and
thank my dear friend Mike Wheat, a Pittsburgher and long-time collector,
who with his knowledge and expertise designed this website so that I
would be able to share my collection with friends, family and fellow
collectors. I hope you enjoy browsing through the
